Hello

I'm Ben and I'm new.

I was in the ICU for 3 weeks from the 14th September to 5th October last year after I suffered severe brain injuries that left me in a 13 week coma (was in a medically induced coma for the first week), after a car crash that I don't remember. Also one of my close best friends called Bradley aged 26 is still in the ICU after he collapsed at work from a massive brain hemorrhage on the 5th January this year.

My eldest daughter aged 5 called Rose is still in a coma in HDU after she was knocked down in hit and run outside her nursery 4 days ago. She suffered a fractured skull, a small bleed on the brain that hasn't needed surgery and a left leg fracture.

Hi Ben,

Im so sorry youve been through this and im sorry for your friend and his daughter.

Have you had much support following your discharge? It sounds like you have a lot going on.

Headway are amazing and the ICUsteps support groups are there if you need to someone to talk to face to face.

Hopefully you will find some support on here and i hope your friend and his daughter get better soon.

Hello NCU123,

i do have support in place since I was discharged from hospital.

My daughter and close best friend are starting to get better slowly but I know it will be a long road ahead and one step at a time from experience myself so far.

i'm also joined to Headway Health Unlocked Community as well though recommendation from a close family friend.
