low Blood Platelets
Sorry. I have no idea. My problem in the past before diagnosis and warfarin was from sky high platelet count. One doctor told me that if red blood cells go down, platelets will go up, and vice versa.
Do you know why your platelets are low? Are they within normal range, just at the low end of normal?
Hi TN from Illinois! My daughter lives in Knoxville. I have suffered from ITP for years and was suggested by alternative healthcare using arnica and tahini, didn’t help. Have learned to live with low counts. My new normal became 30-60,000. Not sure what your other treatments or diagnosis are, sadly not sure there is a fix. I learned to monitor by feeling, like a bad flu and can’t function usually signals lower than 30 get help…good luck to you!
mine are always right at the bottom of the normal range. Nothing to do about it.
mine are low and they think it’s from my plaquinil. Are you on plaquinil?
Gosh, I'm not sure. My nephew, had CAPS, and his platelets went very low. At the time, he was not on any blood thinner. He had a lot of treatments, Plaquenil, Cellcept, IVIG and Plasmapheresis. As well as high dose steroids, for months. He still has APS, but his platelets are now within the normal range, right in the middle of the range.
Sometimes it can indicate low folate and B12, I would get thoroughly checked and then ask what to take, GP/Specialist advice, MaryF
