Back on the antibiotics again!..I don't like having to keep take antibiotics as my immune system is all ready suppressed.Coughing all day which is aggravating my back pain and keeping me awake through out the night too.can taking to many antibiotics cause problems with people who have APS?

well I'm not going to let this latest infection get me down. The sun is out with clear blue skies and the birds are in full voice.

Going to go for a walk along the beach later today, and breath in some sea air.without coughing to much.

Best wishes to you all.

AHHHHH! Sea air! Sorry for the coughing. Sympathies. I had a case of micro plasma pneumonia once. My docs told me I was fortunate as this was the mildest form of pneumonia, but one of the hardest to shake. One year later. ONE YEAR LATER, I began coughing in the middle of a college calculus class. I has become complacent and did not have any tissue. After a good 2minutes of coughing I hacked up ( with all the class watching,) this horrid looking chunk of disgust.

"Micoplasma pneumonia is it? Or WAS it? " my professor said as he had rushed to hold a tissue under my face just in time. I nodded as I did not yet have enough breath to speak. "I've has that. This is hopefully the last of it." he said as he threw the tissue away then dashed out to sterilize his hands.

Glad you're not here in Appalachia. Our spring was interrupted by a succession of Arctic "clippers" from the Canadian tundra. So, those plants that could save their pollen for warmer weather, did. And this past week we have had a pollen explosion. All that tree pollen contrasts well on the hood of my dark maroon Subaru.

Enjoy the sea walk!

Hi - I have had two long chest infections since December.. nasty and took an age to shift. However I think a dose of sun shine for the vitamin D is a good idea, and a walk by the sea sounds great. I also did good old fashioned steaming twice a day, which stopped the endless irritation, boring I know, but it did work. Get well soon. Mary F x

I have had constant chest infections for the last two years since i had my first PE and pneumonia together. I have since had pneumonia 4 times. It is complicated by the fact that i am allergic to most antibiotics so finding one i can take and that will do the job is not easy. At the moment i have another chest infection and am on cefelexin.

Hi,

Sorry about your infection. I've been on many rounds of antibiotics and have primary APS. Also have mycoplasma and a suppressed immune system. Just had surgery 11 days ago and they went ahead with it despite the fact that they could hear rales in my lungs. It was an infection I'd had (and still is lingering) for almost 2 months. Because I have cancer they did not want to put the operation off.

I have CFIDS (chronic fatigue immune dysfunction) in addition to the APS and, now, cancer - and a host of other things. So, getting infections has been a part of the whole picture. Taking antibiotics has not interfered with the APS as far as I can see, except that it probably is not good to have my body weakened. If you have an infection it is important to treat it. I also eat a very good diet and take supplements.

Best of luck to you,

Leigha
