APS, Covid and pregnant

Hi,

I was diagnosed with APS after 3 miscarriages. I have now conceived through IVF and I am 15 weeks pregnant. I am taking 150g aspirin and 5000 fragmin.

I've just got a positive covid test, I have aches and sore throat.

Is there anything you can tell me to keep my mind at ease? I'm really worried.

Thanks

My understanding is that if you have been vaccinated then the symptoms you are experiencing are pretty normal and hopefully will stay mild. You should contact your Doctor though just so they are aware and can decide if there is anything else that needs to be done. Congratulations BTW.

Congratulations! Just keep your fluids up and take something like Nelsons cold remedy which is totally natural. I had flu during my pregnancy and was in bed with a high temperature and migraine and the only thing that gave me relief was coldenza. Good luck and keep us updated xx

Hi, please do contact your GP or specialists or both if you feel really ill or have any new symptoms, I am pleased you are on Aspirin and Fragmin, it sounds like your specialist knows what they are doing. MaryF

Just thought I'd give an update. Everything fine so far. 21 weeks pregnant. The fragmin and aspirin really seem to be magic for me. Got over the covid fine. Thanks.

Glad to hear it. I had a successful pregnancy with aps on baby aspirin and fragmin. But be aware that my specialist doubled my fragmin dose from 16 weeks I think to 5000 twice daily. Some people questioned it but my consultant was adamant and she's one of the leading hematologists in the country. I don't mean to worry you, just sharing my experience. Might be worth just asking your consultant if there is new evidence that suggests improved rates of success with a double fragmin dose in second and third trimester. Good luck! X

I don't really have any way to speak to a consultant until I see them at 30 weeks.

I don't know what to do now. I thought it was based on weight.
