Recovering from bronchitis.

So, after coughing and not sleeping for 5 days I finally went to see my GP. He diagnosed me with bronchitis and checked back on my notes and told me I haven't had an antibiotic prescribed for me for 6+ years. I'm halfway through them and finally not coughing near as much. This was just as well as I had an eye specialist appt to get a second opinion on my intermittent double vision.

He confirmed what I thought it probably was-micro clots coming and going on the optic nerve - which was in good condition- as I could never predict when and where it might happen or for how long. (...and of course it didn't happen while he was examining me) Told me to check back with Haem to see if I could maybe up the Clexane a bit to see if it would help. After checking my acuity (6/6 on both eyes with glasses) he told me that at my age (yes I'm old!!) he was surprised it was so good as I had cataracts in both eyes- but not bad enough to operate as yet.

I have now decided not to get any older as all that happens is they find new things wrong with me! So no more birthdays for me henceforth.

Cheers and keep well.

Absolutely love your post think it pretty much sums up what a lot of us feel like with this annoying disease. Gallows humour at its best and more than happy for time to stand still as can’t get anything more wrong so I agree no birthdays but going to start a petition for time to stand still for all with APS

Instead of forgetting birthdays, try going backwards?I had my strokes in my thirties so I tell everyone I've had my old age and now approaching middle age.

Whatever age - keep up that wonderful attitude and spirit xx

I decided a long while ago that I would no longer celebrate "milestone" birthdays as I was diagnosed with Cancer just after my 40th and Transverse Myeletis along with APLS and lupus just before my 50th. When I turned 60 my daughters made cards saying "Recycled 59 year old" Maybe you can have an unbirthday instead.

I hope you are feeling better and the antibiotics have helped with the bronchitis
