Probably just a coincidence but ...

I started on a gluten free diet about a week ago. Gluten seemed like the only thing I could cut out, in the interests of dampening down inflamation, without risking removing something importnat out of my diet. I thought about dairy but then was concerned about not getting enough calcium to hopefully give the newly diagnosed osteoporosis a bit of a kick up the arse.

Anyways, I feel as rough as ever, with constant headaches. But the livedo seems to have becomes less colourful and less prominant. Like I say, maybe a coincidence. But made me smile to look at my legs with out being dazzled by the usual ghoulish purple-red.

I feel so much better off gluten, I see it as taking a layer of irritation off my system. MaryF

That makes sense. Though I dont think gluten free bread can get close to normal bread. But thats a small price to pay I guess.

I feel much better off the gluten, although it took a while to get out of my system. Only recently stopped the lactose, that was hard but worth it in the end. Ive taken calcium & vit D for many years aswell, to supplement lack of hormones and help contra the clexane I was on.

Good for you, I hope you see improvement in other health issues like your lovely legs. Keep with it xx

Funny you should mention soy as I have recently read soy isn't good for anyone.

Thanks apsnotfab. I went a bit crazy on soya when I tried to cut out dairy and I think all that soya might have been worse than the dairy.

Congratulations Charlie! My sister Nanny 23 also has APS and is on GF diet! She swares by it! Sometimes she forgets (brain fog) and eats gluten and becomes bloated! She's also allergic to cows milk and had to stop dairy too! Stick with it! I did it for about a month and felt better, I just never kept it up! Too busy taking care of everyone else! As u stay on it I know ul feel the difference!!! Great news! GODSPEED
