hemorrhoid surgery: has anyone had this... - Hughes Syndrome A...
hemorrhoid surgery
Hi, I think probably others on here have had this procedure, it is important that your consultant/surgeon talks you through any bridging with medication and or communicates with whoever is managing your Hughes Syndrome/APS. MaryF
Yes. Long time ago when my INR was nowhere nearly as tightly managed as it is now. As Mary suggests, advice is to have a discussion about bridging with the medics asap though.
By bridging procedure we mean that you don't just stop your warfarin or other antii-coagulant for 'x' days as is often suggested. Many of us stop our normal anti-coagulant but then get cover from heparin until closer to the procedure, then restart heparin and warfarin (or whatever drug) as soon as possible after the procedure until you are back on target.
Best wishes,
I have been threw 2 surgeries. they bridge with Enoxaparin {lov-nox }.
they should monitor you a couple days pre op and then post op .
they got mi INR down to 1 pre op and then I started back on warfarin in 4 to 5 days .
Yes iv just had 2 operations on my hands and shoulder you will have a pre op first if you are on warfin you will have to come off it for 5 days and you will have to have clexane to help your INR down to 1 my scars are heeling good now it's only 3 weeks since I had my last operations and 7 week since I had my first operation but all was good hope yours will be too x
I also after whent back on my warfin and on clexane for 2 weeks till my INR when back to normal x
