has anyone experienced alot of palpitations /ectopics post cardiac ablation? Im 6 weeks in and feel them most when laying down, after a big meal and long extended walks. Taking flecainide and metoprolol. I am praying that these symptoms improve and god willing disappear after blanking period — which i also heard can be up to 6 months. Thank you in advance for the feedback

Hi Sal,

I've been there.

Completely cut out all caffeine and alcohol.

The chemically induced adrenaline rushes can destabilise the electrical set up which maintains your regular heart beat.

Don't lift heavy shopping.

Take a little longer, listen to what your body tells you.

Hope this helps and you feel better soon.

You are only 6 weeks into a 3 month "Blanking Period" which allows your heart to recover from the trauma of ablation. Once this period has been reached you & your Cardio will be in a far better position to judge if it has been successful. It is normal to feel these for a while as the heart recovers. Best wishes. .
