Hi, already one whole month since I had the cardiac ablation procedure and I haven't had bad AF episodes since then, now I'm only getting short not too strong flutterings. I had been feeling very anxious about the procedure but everything went well and I was able to go home after about 2 hours rest. I just wanted to share my good news with you who might be having doubts about going ahead with the procedure.

Cardiac ablation
Thats wonderful news. Heres to a good recovery and a renewed heart calm future. Thank you for letting us know such good news. 🙂
Same experience with me. Way to step up. Good news.
That’s wonderful news. I am on the waiting list for an Ablation and have been put on Flecainide twice daily to take with my bisoprolol. I am so nervous 😬 were you put to sleep? X
Hi, I'm sorry I have taken so long to reply, I have just now seen your message. No, they didn't put me to sleep, just local anesthesia, and it took only about an hour, it was a very easy procedure, I didn't feel a thing. I had to rest for about an hour and was then sent home. They told me to stop taking Flecainide after 2 months, I was taking 2 a day, not any more. Now I'm only taking Bisoprolol 5 mg once a day. I'm still feeling fine, no long episodes any more, only a few ectopics from time to time but that's all. I hope you get your appointment very soon and I wish you all the best.
Thank you so very much for putting my mind at ease. Did they put you in AF before the procedure?
Hi, no AF before the procedure. They used the frozen method and I didn't feel anything uncomfortable. Are you still on waiting list ? Have you suffered from AF for a long time ? Keep thinking positive. I'm really happy with the results.
Yes I have had AF for almost 2 years now and I have been on waiting list for 3 months. I take Bisoprolol 2.25 & Flecainide 50mg twice daily. I had a TOE also but took my time deciding if an Ablation was for me as I’m super scared! Thanks for your help xx
To me the TOE sounds more scary and uncomfortable than the ablation. Did your cardiologist suggest the ablation because of what he/she saw from the TOE ? Sorry I'm asking too many questions, I didn't have anyone to ask questions to before the ablation, only the week before my appointment I discovered this social medium , too late to change my mind. It looks like we are on the same time zone, are you in the UK ?
I'm heading to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for my first ablation tomorrow. Your post has made me feel slightly less anxious, so thank you for sharing. I'm very pleased it's going so well for you x
Hi Martgai, sorry to take time to get back to you. Had ablation yesterday, went well, really nothing to worry about after all! Home now and resting. Bit of pain around heart, but that's it. Feeling very relieved. Thank you for asking x
Hi, I'm glad everything went smoothly. You might feel a bit tired for a day or two. I hope, like me, you won't get any more of the horrible episodes. Take care. M x
Hi Musicma, it's a few days now after your ablation. How are you feeling now ? hope everything is going well. M xx
Hi Martgai, thank you so much for asking after me. I'm fine, and not fine at the same time! The discomfort and the breathlessness has gone, and I'm up to 4000 steps now on walking, and I'm sure that'll improve more quite fast now. But I'm a bit tearful and not quite right in my head! Not sure if that makes sense at all
Hi Musicma, I'm sorry you are not totally fine. But have you had any more AF episodes after the procedure ? if you haven't, then that is something really good, and 4000 steps after only 2 weeks, that is another good thing ! Just think only of the good things, keep your mind occupied, look forward to not having the AF anymore. Keep in touch. xx
Thank you. No major episodes. A few weird moments when it feels like it's going to kick off and then it doesn't, but I think that's pretty normal at this stage?
That’s fab so pleased for you. I am on waiting list too and super nervous 😬
Hi, good that you're on the waiting list and hope you don't have to wait too long, you have made up your mind that this is the way to go to get rid of the beastly AF. I was very nervous too but the procedure was nothing to be scared about. I wish you all the best,
