Hi Arrhythmia Alliance! Just found this community after searching everywhere for answers without any results. So I'm hoping for some answers here.
I've had PVC's for as long as I can remember, and began to worry about them at a young age. I have done too many ecg's to count, holter monitoring a couple of times, and echocardiogram two times. The doctors never found anything wrong, just found a couple of PVC's (my heart pauses for 1-2 seconds, followed by a hard beat), and said my heart is healthy and it's nothing to worry about. So I stopped worrying and just ignored them.
So about 1 month ago I was just sitting down relaxing, and out of nowhere my heart just began racing extremely fast, it felt like someone kicked me in the chest, I panicked, took several deep breaths and began to move around, and after 5-10 seconds I felt normal fast sinus rhythm again (I'm guessing fast because of the adrenaline from the panic attack). The thing is, I've felt this before. It happens maybe once every 1-2 months. But this time it felt different, it lasted a bit longer. So I began thinking about it a lot, I felt the anxiety building up (it's worth mentioning I have health anxiety, thanks to my heart) and after this attack (I'm not sure what it was) I began noticing a lot of ectopic beats, but not the ones I'm used to!
The ectopics i have now are non-compensatory. They just feel like a kick in my chest but without the warning from the pause before like the ones I'm used to! Its extremely scary and worrying! I've contacted my doctor again but she said "we can't do anything more, we have done every test several times and your heart is fine". So I didn't know what to do. The anxiety got worse, and so did the ectopics. I went to the ER because I couldn't stand it anymore. They did an ecg (I didn't feel any ectopics during. I'm guessing because my heart was beating pretty fast). But while waiting for the doctor they had me plugged in to some monitoring thing, and I felt a lot then. But the doctor never said anything about it. I'm not even sure she checked the monitoring device, or of it even records anything. Everything was fine according to the doctor and I was sent home.
Ever since I keep getting these non-compensatory ectopic beats everyday, and I'm really worried!!
My stomach is bloated almost all the time now, and I'm beginning to suspect that theres some connection between my stomach and the ectopics. I get them more when I'm sitting down, and that is also when I feel the most bloated. Can my bloated stomach be a cause?
Anybody else who experiences the same thing? Or is there someone who could give me some answers? Are these non-compensatory extra beats dangerous?? I asked my doctor about it and she just said "there's a lot of different ones". That's not reassuring at all!! So many questions but no answers whatsoever.. I'm at a point now where I'm feeling depressed and everything feels hopeless.. so if anyone could give me some info or some tips, that would mean the world to me!!
I'm sorry for the super long post.
