Hi and welcome to the group Thesunisshineing . :-) Thank you for introducing yourself to everyone.

What has your doctor suggested about the type of food/drink you can/can't have? Are you also allergic to any food/drink?

I'm sorry to see that you're struggling with bloating. I hope your operation is a success. I have hiatus hernia and bloating/distension as well that occurs after eating. My doctor recommended foods and a few supplements that have been life saving for me. They have helped reduce the bloating and improved my digestion. First and foremost if you havent tried it an elimination diet for a brief time maybe useful to determine your food triggers. Also you may benefit from testing out if you struggle with h pylori or SIBO.

What's helped me:

1.Kefir/sauerkraut

2. Probiotic supplement

3. Digestive enzymes supplement

4. Ox bile at a really low dosage (125 mg)

5. Dgl at a really low dosage (75 )

Another food that is beneficial for gut health is apple cider vinegar with the mother. Its fantastic as long as you dont have gastritis or an active ulcers. I can no longer tolerate it due to my gastritis. You can start with half a teaspoon with a glass of water to determine your tolerance.

Wishing you better health
