I have a number of health conditions, each of which advises eating or not eating certain foods. I need to formulate a reasonable diet that incorporates all of them but when I check different websites, they seem to contradict themselves.
Yea It Is Frustrating... However, I Had To Make A Few Changes On My Own Anyway... Allot Is Really Common Sense & Research... I Had To Say, OK, What Cuts Grease, Slime & Fat ?... Lemons & Vinegar ! & They Are Really Great For You. I Basically Eat Smaller Amounts Of Anything I Want. But ! Add Counter Measure Foods To It Also. [ good things that combat the bad things i just ate ]... Stevia Has Become A Healthy Habit In Sweetening For Me Too... I Use Milled Flax Seed Along With My Salt [ changed to morton lite salt ] & Pepper In A Shaker Too. It Takes On The Flavor Of Food & Can Used On Anything Including Baking It Into Deserts Ect.... I Add It To Almost Everything At Home. It Provides HIGH Amounts Of The Omega 3's And Gives Me Good Fats To Combat The Bad Ones In The Meal... We Eat Out Mostly. Fast Foods ? If I Want A Burger, I Found Out I Really Enjoy The Burger Without Cheese. Say I Go To Burger King. I Order A Whopper. I Order "Extra" On EVERY Veggie On The Burger. I Want To Equal As Much As I Can The Bad Fats With More Healthy Veggies... & Order Small Fries. [ oh. any grilled chicken sandwich is much better but i still ask for extra veggies ] McDonalds ? WOW ! I Call It "McCheese" ! Just Look At That Menu. These People Cram Cheese Down Your Throat ! I Basically Get What I'm Desiring But ! I Always Add The "Side Salad" With An Oil & Vinegar or/ Vinaigrette Dressing. "GREEN" & Veggies Combat Sugar Levels & Have Healthy Nutrients Too ! I Carry Packets Of Stevia Everywhere & Even Keep A Small Box In The Truck & Car. I'll Order The Unsweetened Tea & Sweeten It Myself. Oh ! I Also Carry Lemons With Me Too. Could Get A Water, Add Some Lemon & Stevia & CUT THAT Bad Fat I Just Ate... In A Restaurant. I Get Whatever I Want To Eat & Drink. BUT ! I Want That Glass Of Water On That Table Also & Lemon Wedges [ for after the meal ]. I Order A Side Salad & THAT Is My Primary "Eat It All" With The Meal. If All They Have Is Cole Slaw ? I Order An Extra. In That Situation It May Have Mayo In It But ! Everywhere I Go Out To Eat, I Am Making My Lemon Water After Any Meal. [ take some packets of stevia if i wanna sweeten it ] I'll Get The Benefits Of The Veggies But I Am Also Battling & Breaking Up The Fats. I Also Realized That My Attitude Was. " I Payed 30 Bucks For This Meal & I'm Cleaning My Plate" ! Then I'm Stuffed. I Realized I Was Stressing My Stomach. Now ? I Pay Attention. When I "Start" To Feel Kinda Full ? I Take The Rest Home. Eat It 2 Hours Later or ? The Next Day. I Also Buy A Gallon Of Distilled Water & Add Lemons [ lemon water ] & Keep It In The Fridge... It's Odd After A Wile. If My Wife Brings Home Us A Meal After Work, Like Say 3 Days Straight & There's Very Little Veggies Involved, I Now Find My Body CRAVING Green !* [ but thats great ]... The Only Way I Know To Turn Myself Towards Eating Healthier Is By "Adding" Healthy Combatants To My Diet Right Now.....
One of my probs is I can't have citric foods e.g..lemon, oranges, tomatoes, blackberries etc.But most of that post I have done. I just need a comprehensive list of food I can eat x
Welcome back to the Healthy eating forum - I remember your name from a few years back. Good to see you again. Sorry to hear you've got a range of conditions to contend with, and I hope that you can get some support for them. I saw that you wrote that you have been referred to a Dietician, and I very much hope that will be helpful, when the appointment time comes around. Hopefully they can work with you to get a list of foods you can tolerate.
Wishing you the best with it. Hope you have a good week.
Good Morning Sopmarfree, the 'more' under each post can be used only by the person doing the posting. If l notice an error in my post... l touch 'more' and then 'edit' to fix my mistake. I hope this explanation helps. Granni B
Reasonable to my mind is something that actually solves these problems. Assuming no further complications your conditions can be addressed with whole food plant based lifestyle. For clarity I don't mean just vegan, but rather the ultra healthy concept of cooking your meals from fruit, veg, legumes, nuts and seeds.
That may or may not sound reasonable to you. To some people reasonable may mean small changes, but I don't think these will fully address your conditions.
