Here's what I made for dinner they're quinoa and red lentil fritters made by cooking some quinoa and lentils with hot chilli, before adding garlic coriander leaves turmeric black pepper celery salt and a couple of desert spoons of gram flour all mixed to a thick paste then shaped into to rounds flattened and then coated in sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds.
I put them in a lightly oiled pyrex baking dish and left them in the fridge for 1/2 hour before baking for around 25 mins @180C
I had 2 of them with black and wild rice and a mixed salad and enjoyed it very much its all gluten free and plant based so ticks the free from box and is nutritious.
Its been a beautiful day here so I hope everyone is enjoying their day. π
Hi Jerry, this dinner looks absolutely wonderful and so healthy. ππ I am writing down on my grocery list all your health conscious spices you used as I had no idea they made turmeric black pepper and celery salt before. Love your incorporation of sesame and pumpkin seeds. In this meal, you had most of my stables such as quinoa, lentils, black and wild rice. So delicious with mixed salads. Thank you for sharing your ingredients with us. πππΊ

Your meal looks very enticing and must have been delicious. It's great that the turmeric was accompanied by black pepper since the latter has a compound that better aids the absorption of turmeric in the body. Food synergy at its finest.
My understanding is that the black pepper is needed to absorb the anti-inflammatory properties of tumeric? I eat alot of tumeric and have found it quite palatable in scrambled eggs. It just goes to show that supplements aren't always the answer and a healthy balanced diet is just as effective.
I even made a tumeric cake once, really easy and was very good with a coffee.
Your understanding is correct Although I ate healthily growing up, my knowledge increased over the years as I researched more about gastritis and the benefits of certain foods. Sharing is caring, hence why I mentioned black pepper aiding turmeric absorption.
As humans, we're constantly learning and evolving to improve ourselves. Also, it's just as important to help others. In essence, a collective effort to improve the human experience on earth.
Never thought of adding turmeric to cake, it's a splendid idea and one I'll have to try God willingly. Thnxs for sharing
