Dear All,
Today for myself, and my neighbour, I did a fairly 'basic' Chilli Con Carne. I fried onion with garlic, and placed them in my large saucepan, before frying the meat. To the onion I added two jars of Lloyd Grossman 'Tomato & Chilli' sauce, two tins of Red Kidney Beans, some 'interesting looking' frozen Mixed Beans (that I found in the Supermarket, Before Lock Down), along with some bouillon- Swiss Vegetable- Stock. Once the meat was cooked, I gently drained the fat- more on this later- before washing off the meat, with kettle water (I always have a 'boiled' Kettle handy) and adding it to the Bean mixture.
I adjusted the flavour, it needed just a 'touch' of sugar, and let it reduce down, stirring as needed. The drained fat I put into the fridge, to cool. Next I put on some Brown Rice, it has a Much Better flavour- especially with Chilli- and let it cook, before washing it 'off'. Finally I Dispatched Michael's Meal, one of the Staff picked it up from me, before having my own meal. (I took the fat, now solid, out of the fridge and wrapped it-before putting it in the bin.)
Michael is having a Beef and Ginger 'Stir Fry' tomorrow and, yes I did, accept His offer. Actually I really like, sharing meals, in fact I just enjoy Cooking.
