Yesterday, whilst shopping, I saw an, absolutely Beautiful, piece of pre-cooked beef being 'sold off'. It was marked 'Best Before 4 January'....Sorry but it HAD to be mine! It is now, in my large cooking pot, converted to curry for myself and Mike- my neighbour. It's quite a 'hot' curry with a, very pleasant, under/ after taste. I added the spices myself.... who needs 'curry powder'? I have some 'interesting' spices, in my Box, including 'Garlic Pepper' (as opposed to salt). I added Fresh onion, and mushroom, before 'raiding the freezer', for vegetables....mind you I 'drew the line' at Brussel sprouts! I'm quite looking forward, to it.

This sounds really good, AndrewT . I hope you enjoy it tonight.
I had rice noodles with mushrooms, fake bacon pieces and edamame mixed with some spices for dinner tonight. I liked it. I had an orange for afterwards.😀👍
Update, on the Curry, It was Beautiful- one of the best I have ever made. I managed, to get, all the flavours to 'Meld' together- dare I say- 'perfectly' (NOT Blowing My Own Trumpet- too much anyway!). I just served it with brown rice, that was cooked, with, a little, sea salt added. Unfortunately Michael, Wasn't impressed, with the Angel Delight- with tinned 'fruit cocktail- that I served up, for dessert. (he didn't actually 'say' anything, he just Left most of it....). Jokes apart, I'm glad, that I CAN still 'turn on' a curry, from Scratch.
By the way 'Catmad10', how about Pollock Trifle or Pork and Custard? (Did you ever watch that, truly brilliant series, The Vicar Of Dibley? One Female character, I can't remember which, used to 'Come Up With', the most vile food concoctions imaginable.)
I have heard of, a Middle Eastern, fish curry can anyone Elaborate please?
I think a Chilli Con Carne, next time....unless I make a pie.....
Am I missing something? I am not a huge believer in use by dates, but did you buy meat that was a month past its use by date? Or did everyone just realise you meant "4 February", and I am being slow?
You 'Spotted' my mistake....erm, ah....Well done🙈….. Can I confess that I HADN'T, until you pointed this out- I'm guessing that no-one else did either. However, to answer your question- No I didn't use, a MONTH, old meat! I meant, of course, 4/ FEBRUARY/ 2020.
In actual fact, the meat, was IN date when I used it...….
Thank you again Subtle_badger from a, somewhat embarrassed
Actually I was Going, to make them, into a Trifle.... but I couldn't 'Find' my recipe book🥴. I did find, the one, for Caviar Cheesecake though..... Maybe I'd better 'Lose' that one again?🙊
Maybe, we should all, Start finding THOSE recipes.... what does everyone think?😀
All 'Harmless' Fun..... and Bad Food😰 ('anxious face, with sweat' apparently)
