Day 30: Honesty.

Had a slip today and am trying to be honest and wondering if I am. Had chips and a beer, but went for a small chips and shared them with the wife. Also stopped when I no longer felt hungry, which is nowhere near when I would normally stop. Tried to think whether, by saying that, I actually was being honest with myself...so I had a little think about it.

Still managed 15,000 steps, nothing bad during the day and only healthy food for the rest of the day. Looking forward to weigh in on Saturday.

Stay strong. Stay honest!

Hi Wordsworth2 ,

Everyone is allowed to have a‘cheat’ day now and then. If you don’t, then you feel like you’re deprived of a certain thing. You’re doing a good job and keep up the good work!😀👍

You’re welcome! We know you can do it!😀👍

Hi Wordsworth2 I think that 15K steps is admirable and it may interest you to know that a bag of chips can contain more vitamin C than an apple so not worth beating yourself up over.

To me you were mindful and thats why you bought a small bag and didn't finish them so I'd say you've had a successful experience...👍

Hi Jerry,

I absolutely did not know that. So next time I want some vitamin C, I know where to go! 🤣😁. It is nice to think that I made a deliberate choice to hold back and did, that would not have happened a month ago. Thank you for your support and kind words.

Hi Wordsworth2

You're not depriving yourself of things, and achieving a balance, and well done on your steps. Hope the week is going ok for you.

Hi Zest,

Thank you for your kind words and support. The week has gone well and I've managed at least 14,000 steps every day this week, so am hoping that the weight will have shifted this week! I hope your week has gone equally well.

Really don't beat yourself up for having a little bit of something you fancied. Complete deprivation means your more likely to fall off the wagon all together, and to potentially binge eat when you do so.

Enjoy the chips, relish the experience, move on from it. No punishment, no guilt, no problem.

Hi Cooper, thank you for your kind words and support. I'm all for a bit of rubbish now and again, just have to make sure it doesn't become a regular thing. 😁
