Hi Allisonshane I buy quality organic butter and have butter on toast and sandwiches and I cook with butter, if you like making biscuits goats butter has a lower melting point and makes biscuits 'shorter' so they literally melt in your mouth.

I know there are lots of low fat vegetable spreads out there but they are very processed and contain traces of chemicals that are alien to our bodies so they are stored in our bodies as our bodies don't have the ability to get rid of them.

Butter does contain saturated fat + calories and can still be part of a healthy diet as it is a natural wholesome food. In my opinion.

Jerry. 😊

Butter like all animal products contain ttrans fats. A 100g of butter has 3.3g of trans fat. Do you really want that transfat in your diet?

Whether organic or otherwise are you eating salted butter? And so is it the salt that is the attractive element? Why not just pour salt on your toast?

Hi Andy I don't eat salted butter so the thought of salt on toast doesn't appeal. I personally choose it over margarines.

I wish I could eat quality butter on a decent loaf. but I'm a demon for the toast to the point I sometimes get through loaves too quickly. When I've got better eating habits I hope to revert to some decent stuff.

I can do this at times, especially if the bread is freshly baked!

My Dad used to be a Baker and now and again he would make us a Tin Loaf ( flour flying everywhere). There's nothing quite like the smell and taste of a fresh THICK crust.

Personally I think the best thing on toast is cheese ;) but if I was just eating toast for breakfast, I'd either have butter or peanut/almond butter.

Definitely butter! I toast the bread (seeded wholemeal) direct from the freezer as this helps the starch become more resistant and so able to feed the gut bacteria in the large intestine. Lovely taste of hot buttered toast and improving the microbiome, win/win 😀

Usually butter, exceptions are if I’m having avocado or veggie pate as there’s already sufficient fat in those.

Avacado, very healthy. You won't need the butter 🙃
