Peaceful Period Hacks

I’ve been picky with food lately, looking at food I would think to myself, “I already know how I am going to digest that,” “hmm, do I want to taste mucus build-up from eating or drinking that.” Without it being forced, my diet shifted, and when that time of the month rolled around; it was like a walk in the park. It is only fair I share what I did differently to make my period go by so smoothly.

No Meat,

I just didn’t have a taste for meat, to my surprise, it was super beneficial. Not only did I not bloat, but also in regards to mother nature’s monthly visit, I barely had cramps. If you can not remove meat from your diet, I recommend minimizing it to once a week. If you do have a meal that included meat, drinking water during the meal or some cleansing tea will help clear it out of your system. I recommend peppermint tea, with slices of ginger and a slice of lemon.

Lots of water,

Water is just your best friend in any circumstance in regards to your health. Not only does water help you externally, but it also helps you internally as well. Regularly, drinking water before your period should sooth the flow of blood. Even if you have a craving for a particular drink, make sure you drink water a few hours after.

Bananas,

Instead of taking Motrin, Tylenol, or whatever pill you choose to take to soothe your cramps. A banana or two works to get rid of the painful cramps just as quick, or maybe even quicker. I feel a banana would be better because you don’t have to worry about any long term side effects.

Heating pad,

If you have enough time in the day to relax, take a nap with a heating pad. If not, there are heating pads you can buy at your local drug store when you are on the go.

It's likely that when you cut out meat, you increased consumption of foods high in magnesium, such as legumes, nuts, avocado? Magnesium and zinc deficiency can cause very painful periods. I find magnesium supplements make a huge difference, as does eating ginger.

I'm glad you've struck on something that works for you.
