“A third of the world’s food production depends on bees” so we have to look after them.

Hey thanks Kaz as bee's are wonderful creatures and are so busy being a vital part of our eco system, so yes we certainly do need to look out for them.

I think the BBC link is really good and smiled at how to give a bee B&B.

So thanks as this is a great post. 😊

Here's a link to Matts brilliant bee:

Wonderful posting! Can I show this to my Sister-In-Law? She has beehives in her backyard.😀👍

Hi Kaz747

This is a gorgeous photo. I remember also taking a photo of some bees in the Summer - last year I think, and here's a link to my post:

Zest :-)

Love ALL bees, solitary, bumble, honey - the most amazing and gentle creatures and they really need our help.

I agree Oolong, they do need our help, desperately.

Not a lot of people actually realise how helpful bees are to us.

Bees are dying off at alarming rates via pesticides mainly.

It is only a wonder why pesticides are even used.

I, like many others, was taught that pesticides were to kill off the pests surrounding crops. Bees are not pests!

Things these days are unraveling more and more and it seems like what we have been told is false.

Dig deep enough and I think you will find that we (humanity) are the pests in THEIR eyes.

Agree entirely. The best thing we can do is stop using pesticides, then stop buying over-produced plants like begonias, busy lizzies and things with no nectar or pollen. There are so many beautiful, long flowering plants that can be used instead of bedding plants and the bees will love us.
