Hi Georgina, have a look on this forum
It's the arthritis forum on HU.
I think they would know all there is to know for your questions.
Hi Georgiab123
Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. I am sorry to hear you're experiencing so much pain from your RA - I hope that you are able to get some relief - and I hope the link to the Arthritis forum is helpful to you.
Zest
I have had a 40+ years of arthritis (psoriasis, osteo and rheumatoid) that eventually put me into a wheelchair in 2015 with legs like balloons and in so very much pain (CRP at worst was 177.) I have taken all the meds you mention and more.
Easter 2016 I changed my diet towards a whole food plant based no refined oils and over a 6 month period went through a healing and elimination process to find out what foods trigger my arthritis (under the tutelage of the paddison program). From the day I started my CRP dropped and dropped. 1st July 2017 was my last methotrexate (and folic acid) tablet, supported by my doctor and rheumy. Because my body was completely shot I now do Bikram yoga 5 days a week mostly and that is gradually rebuilding my body strength. Of course it will do little against the osteo in my both knees, right elbow and right wrist, with a fair amount of bone-on-bone. I cannot run but I can walk long distances at pace and otherwise live a normal life with zero risk of arthritis ever coming back to haunt me.
That’s great I suffer from dry mouth stops me eating anything but soft food it’s driving me mad but professionals don’t understand the difficulty it is
