Just to add to Zest's fitness topic; HE and Exercise here's my stats so far today as this morning I rode 29.11Km and this afternoon I visited my son and walked through the allotments as its a very pleasant walk and was 2.91miles coincidentally.
My outdoor cycle my Av heart beat was 105bpm and it's max was 156bpm as I had a burst up a hill. Active calories 522 total cal's 683
My afternoon walk was 2,91 miles active cal's 259 total cals 451 average heart beat was 83bpm and I took 5,931 steps.
FitBit data, this morning:
I'm 5'10 and weigh 134.5 lbs with 14.5% body fat and my BMI is 19.3.
This to me shows that when we get in tune with 'our' bodies and their needs we can eat what we want because we want healthy alternatives to the norm.
This photo to me shows one of the problems with modern society as I'm about 1.5 from Bristol city centre and where is everyone? its a beautiful Sunday afternoon and there's a city farm 1/2 mile away with nowhere left to park the car...
If anyone else would like to add to this topic then please do. π
Hi Zest and thanks, I think its great to have stats over a period of time so they're not showing a peak or trough and I know that HE and exercise go hand in hand for a sense of well being. And I sleep better when I've had plenty of exercise. π
You must be very fit Jerry. I know what you mean about the lack of people. I often notice this when out walking. Also itβs sad to see empty childrenβs play parks, these days they are often deserted. Such a shame and I donβt know a child that wouldnβt rather be out at a play park than stuck in the house.
Yesterday my fitbit recorded 42000 steps, which is my highest ever!
Slightly cheating I think because I started the day with 3 hours of dance classes. But I then went walking for the rest of the day, the scenery in London is not as nice as yours, but I did end up in Greenwich park (just as it started to rain )
I got up at 0530 and did my weight workout, which today was chest: flat bench press, incline dumbell press, incline barbell press, falt and incline dumbell flyes, weighted ring dips, weighted pushups, close grip barbell press and reverse grip Db press.
It was a bit of a grind tbh as I did not sleep well last night. I received news of the passing of an old friend late lat night and it hit me very hard. I did manage to push my bench press to sets of at 87.5kg however, which is not much at all in lifter terms but is progress for me: I have been rebulding my strength from scratch over the lat year after losing all my condition during a long medical lay off. Next week I will be pressing my bodyweight for reps which is another goal on the journey to recovery ticked off, and I am aiming to hit 100kg by September. Little goals but consistent progress.
I jut did my HIIT workout which I normally do in the afternoon but have a hospital appt for my youngest today so got it out of the way early: today 50 burpees, 50 squats, 50 situps, then 40, 30, 20, 10 of the same. I have been plugging away at this routine for six weeks now and whilt i still spend more time gasping on all fours than actually moving, I have got it down from 55 minutes to 33.12.
Onwards and upwards. Pasaramos!
Hi Rignold, firstly I'm so sorry about your friend may they RIP.
Your stats are very impressive to me and I think that by exercising we can literally work out negative feelings so good for you for making an effort.
Hopefully after such an early start and a busy day you'll sleep well tonight.
