KETOGENIC DIETS FOR HEALTH V PALEO

I have recently lost nearly three stone on the cambridge diet after experiencing some as yet undiagnosed chest pains that could be stomach and bowel related as I had a laparoscopic nissen fundoplication about 10 years ago. I am relatively active through my job and not totally unfit. What do you guys think of a ketogenic diet and/or paleo diet? What are the pros and cons? Would be greatly appreciated.

Why oh why do people think eating like our far distant ancestors did is the way for modern humans to eat ? We are not hunter gatherers and don't live that life style. We also want to live longer than the 30 + years that was an average life span.

What is the rationale behind it ? Someone explain please.
