Hi Sue,
Welcome! I'm wondering if you might enjoy the Weight Loss NHS community to help you to lose some weight - there is a weekly weigh-in there (which will be going on all day tomorrow - Monday), so that is an option, and there are lots of Challenges going on in that forum too.
This forum (Healthy Eating) is also really good, and you can see that there are some topics, including 'dieting experiences' and 'healthy recipes' so hopefully between the two communities (should you choose to pop in both) you'll find plenty of motivation and support.
Wishing you a great weekend and good week ahead.

Hello
I too loose motivation very easily. I have just started week 3 today. I do Sunday to Sunday, cos I find it easier. I started at 15 stone 4. with 47 inch waist. Today I am 15 stone. I have lost 2 inches on my waist. It does work. I did feel hungry at first. And... got to a point where I did not want to see another apple ...ever... I won't eat cake or biscuits, but have enjoyed a glass of wine or 3. Stick to it. If I can anyone can. Try lots of roasted veggies with a few crumbled crunchy bacon bits on top. Or really chunky veg soup with some chicken bits in. If you do succumb to a slice of cake or cookie. Don't loose heart. Just make sure you are careful the next day. I don't exercise like I should but do walk my dogs twice a day. When you can see a difference it does spur you on. Keep trying and when you see the scales go down, I'm sure you will find the encouragement to keep going. It is slow progress, but try.
Take care and don't get bored!!

I joined on here for the same reason, a few days ago, and have also joined the NHS Weight loss community, as Zest suggested to me. I actually started dieting 3 weeks ago, but without any plan as such. I then downloaded the NHS Change4Life 12 week plan and have been doing that. It might be worth you giving that a go, as I've found it very helpful and motivating
Everyone on here is very friendly, and I wish you every success!
Hi I don't follow any diets - I managed to loose weight by keeping it simple. I eat 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 carrot, 1 greek yogurt and one bowl of porridge oats everyday. After that I eat normal food. An example of my day to give you an idea is:
9am - coffee and biscuit
11am - banana and coffee
14h00 - any lunch and greek yoghurt
17h00 - carrot + apple - to stop me binging in evening.
19h00 - any light dinner
23h00 - porridge - to stop me binging at night
This way I can eat anything in small portions and feel full.
Don't worry, I do sneak in a chocolate here and there¬!!¬!!!!!
Hello 😊 If you follow an eating plan that you enjoy, and still see results, then that in itself is motivating 😊 I hope this time is different for you! Good luck!
Hi, like you I am my late 40s and have put on about a stone in the last year. Trying to walk more each day and get out while we have dry days. Trying to eat more vegetables this week instead of carbs. No desserts apart from Sundays. And try to only eat my downfall (chocolate on Saturdays)
