I've been following SW on line and struggling a bit only lost 3lbs in 4 weeks .Its easy to follow but I feel I'm not losing enough .
I walk and cycle everyday .I also have a rowing machine .So doing loads of exercise .
Maybe I'd be better going to classes .My lovely partner paid for the online subscription as he knows how miserable my weight is making me .I need to lose 2 stone which I put on while on steroids for asthma and have just started HRT which won't help .I also have IBS and high blood pressure which I take meds for .I suffer from water retention and bloating which drives me nuts so weight can fluctuate quite a lot .
Any suggestions would be great .
Are the classes better for support or am I better sticking online

Hi I go to slimming world group there great and I have brittle asthma and on constant steroid and can't excercise much due to be out of breathe but I lost over a stone the groups r a great help people to talk to and support u have a go good luck
Hi, i also have IBS (horrible), take steroids, hormone replacement medication, and medication which make me retain fluid. I follow a healthy plan which has helped me loads. If you'd like any help, just let me know xx
Remember if you are exercising a lot and changing fat into muscle, the muscle weighs a bit more so that can effect your weight loss. But don't stop. Being healthy is so important and exercise is important for that.
I've been struggling to lose weight on slimming world as well but like you said it is easy to follow. For me, I simply maintain my weight. I don't do much exercise and I think that might be why I don't lose anything so trying to improve on this.
I know slimming world doesn't worry about calorie counting and portion control but I think it is important to keep these in mind. Try logging everything on myfitness pal you might find you are not getting enough calories for all the exercise you do.
Also I think the body adapts to exercise and after a while nothing happens other than you maintain your current level of fitness. so it might help to change things up a bit. Exercise is important but doing the right type of exercise is more important I think. I've heard you burn far more calories doing 10min of HIIT than 1hr walking on a treadmill
I'm going to start using fitness pal again .SW is good but like you not sure about the amount you can eat .It seems heaps to much lol .Going to stick at it tho as I really want to lose this weight .First class went ok last night if only a bit too long .
I lost 3lbs so a happy bunny lol.Going to keep going to classes .I did the the weigh and go tonight but will stay sometimes depending on my partners shifts
I think I just really stuck to the diet 100% and was quite strict with myself .I cut out my odd glass of wine and didn't snack between meals and I kept busy so didn't think about food lol .Also I think the thought of failing to lose in front of other members did it .Where as doing it on line it's just you so no one to really question why I didn't lose .
I also used fitness pall to keep track which helped to .ππΊπ»π
well done I lost 2lbs last week by sticking to it and doing a bit of exercise..so it does work plus I will be on here bugging you about weightloss now that I know you are doing slimming world as well
this week isn't going well, I felt sick after an exercise and when I get sick I feel sorry for myself and start eating, so Monday I ended up having 53 syns so not sure this week will be good but will try anyway..still have 4 days until the healthunlocked Monday weigh in
Well done to you tooπ .Dont beat yourself up about bad days we all get them .My partner bought me a rowing machine which I love but need to use it more .I have a dog that needs walking more too,I work as a Nanny three days a week and do quite a lot of walking when pushing buggy(2 year old Twins in it ) and going up the hill to pick up big brother from school .
Sounds like you over did the exercise a bit .i find I feel sick if exercise when hungry .
Now that you are bugging me lol will have to keep it up .
Have a big night out in November so need to get going .New outfit on the horizon .
I didn't lose weight on other attempts because of the steroids I was on with having asthma but not taking any more because I know losing the weight and getting fit will help .
Went to first class last night and really enjoyed it .You have done really well going to SW so I'm going to keep at it .Classes seem the way for me as its all the friendly advice you get from other members and the class consultant is lovely .

I recently returned to slimming world but after losing 5lbs I can't seem to lose any more, very disappointing when you know you have been good all week, so i have decided to go down the NHS route of dieting which is counting calories with My fitness pal app., I need to get some weight off before my operation, I also think you can combine the slimming world diet with calorie counting, I know slimming world call some foods "free" but nothing is free if it has calories in it and you don't work them off., So be careful you don't overeat ., x
The Classes are definitely worth the money as you get a lot of support and new ideas from the other members. I have been going for the last 3 months and really find it helpful. My weight loss is slow due to long term steroids but going each week and with the support you get is worth it
I've managed to loose 12 lbs so far so really happy .The classes are great fun informative and very supportive .i have another stone and ahalf to go .Feeling really pisitive and determined
I've managed to pick up another chest infection so back on steroids and antibiotics so things might slow down .
I know how you feel .i was fine until a year ago when I developed a really bad chest infection which upset my asthma .The steroids I was put on were a disaster for me .At one point I was putting a pound on a day and it wasn't with what I was eating lol .
I walk three to four miles most days with my dog and use my rowing machine but when my asthma is really bad I struggle so have to push myself more .I hate being inactive .
I eat a healthy diet of home cooked meals from scratch .I grow my own veg in my poly tunnel .I heave never smoked and only have the odd drink .I only drink water and one cup of coffee a day as I don't like surgery drinks .I really dislike sweets and processed foods they taste horrible to me .
I joined SW because knowing I had to get up there every week would push me on .It was not my diet and lifestyle that caused the weight gain it was the steroids I was on .SW is working for me so far but I also use my fitness pal .
I have lost over a stone so far with another to go so really chuffed .Hope you are doing well too
