Is it possible to recover? It feels like something takes over my body during binge. I don't want to end up overweight because of this monster inside my head.

Binge-eat problem
Hello, the above post explains a lot about how certain foods can be highly addictive and contribute to binge eating, and how to help control this with your diet, however there are also often psychological or emotional issues behind binge eating as well (which can sabotage all your good intentions - and that's not being weak). Then nhs don't seem to offer much in the way of psychological support for binge eaters or over eaters, however a good website is b-eat.co.uk they are a charity for eating disorders in the uk and there is some useful information on there about binge eating. There is a book which I found very helpful by Caroline Coker Ross titled The binge eating and compulsive overeating workbook (I think I got it from Amazon) which is a user friendly logical guide to identifying the emotional triggers and faulty thinking which sit behind bad eating patterns with some helpful tasks to re-examine the way you think about food and use food ( and tips to help you deal with stress which is my issue.) hope you find this useful x
