Hi wanttofeelbetternow

Welcome to the Healthy Eating forum. I think it can be really difficult to stop a craving from snow-balling into something more - and maybe finding out the cause of the craving might be a thing to consider. There can be lots of factors contributing - boredom, emotional issues, and so on.

There is an article from a Women's Health Magazine that might be helpful, as a starting point - but there are also various support networks out there too. Maybe have a look at the article to see if it is helpful to you - the title of the article is "How To Prevent Binge Eating":

There are lots of different ways:

Avoid buying big bars, only buy small ones that are readily portioned.

If you can't trust yourself not to eat a multipack in one go, don't buy them. Walk to the nearest corner shop and buy 1 small bar of chocolate any time you crave it

I've known people to break their chocolate into squares and freeze it - they eat it frozen, because it forces you to suck it, rather than chew, so the square lasts longer and feels more satisfying.

There's a theory that chocolate cravings might indicate a magnesium deficiency, something that's very common- activationproducts.com/blog... And you might want to avoid milk chocolate and work your way toward darker and darker chocolate- less sugar, more of the nutrients that you might be needing. If you decide to try magnesium supplements, they recommend mag citrate or malate since they are well absorbed, better than some of the other forms. Might be worth a try to see if supplements help with the craving.

Hey just want to let you know I’ve been taking 250 mg of magnesium at night and it has helped almost eliminate my chocolate cravings. In fact I can’t remember the last time I had any...and it was a daily habit. Thanks for your suggestion!! 👏🏼🤗🙏🏼
