Hi all, I've been keeping up with you all but not been able to post, as I've been overwhelmed by recent events. Good to see people being supported by this fabulous community. I'm getting back to my routines gradually but am easily tired. I've been supporting my husband through family stuff which hasn't really got much better, so that's quite hard. I find engaging with my in laws a real challenge as they have been so horrible to my husband but he wants to minimise upset due to his sisters terminal diagnosis. I feel the urge to tell them all exactly what I think but I know that won't help. As I'm writing this, I'm remembering a thing called the unsent letter where you write what you want to say then destroy the letter. I think this might help me today cos I am fed up of carry these feelings around with me.

Hi Daylightsaving,

I did those letters in the past and it helped.

I am sorry about your sisters-in-law's diagnosis and understand you don't want to upset her.

It's been a lot of traumatic experiences and it is understandable that you are taking time to slowly get back to your routine.

I have been ill and I wish I listened to my body.

I'm sorry you are tired. Your body is processing and dealing with things.

Sending my support...

Thanks Natalie, sorry you've been ill. I really learned how to listen to my body after developing long Covid 5 yes ago. Before then I would push myself and take on more than was good for me. Having an energy limiting condition means I have to prioritise what I spend my energy on.I wrote the letter and burned it, (trying hard not to set the smoke alarms off). It did help, I feel easier now so glad I remembered it πŸ’•
