Thank you

I had to remember to say thank you! The journey has been rough. The loneliness has been unbearable. what I know for sure is that someone would love to be in my shoes. God has been good to me. In my stillness, I had to say, "thank you." I'm not where I want to be. But I'm not where I used to be. Gratitude is changing my attitude.

Beautifully said. Thank You!

I have learned to look for "Progress, not Perfection."

(This is a phrase often used within the Alanon groups I had attended for years, still do attend.)

When will I reach perfection? Never. Yet, I continue to yearn to be the best person I can be while here on this magnificent Earth, along with all of the imperfections and strife we may encounter, or even cause at times, as imperfect human beings.

We are all "perfectly imperfect."

It is our sense of "imperfection" which causes us to seek for more outside of ourselves, often a relationship with our creator, with the Divine, or similar concepts, each according to our own understandings.

There is a fantastic book written, entitled: The Spirituality of Imperfection: Storytelling and the Search for Meaning, written by Ernest Kurtz and Katherine Ketcham. I have read this book several times. Have also given away several copies. Each time I re-stock it in my personal library, I end up giving the copy away and re-stock again. ;) I realize this book is not for everyone. Yet, many people do benefit from reading this book.

The concept of there being massive spiritual potential and overall growth in simply realizing, and in accepting, our perfect imperfections is somewhat liberating, in my own experience.

Thanks again for a thought stimulating post!
