help if you can / bone infection has anyone had this

l was told yeasterday by my consultant that i may have a bone infection due recently replaced knee has anyone experienced this and if so can it effect your glands and make you feel unwell re the infection. l do have fibro but this is not linked any advice would be much appreciated thank you scottydog ~~~~

Osteomyelitis, or bone infection can certainly make you feel very ill indeed. I'm so sorry you're having to cope with this.

I expect it was explained to you before your operation that this is one of the possible complications but it rarely happens. No doubt you will have been put on intensive antibiotics which should clear it up - sooner rather than later I hope!

You must take great care of yourself and make sure you eat plenty of good food to help you fight the infection.

Hi I broke my leg years ago and had an infection in my bone marrow and because of this I now need two new knees ( as the other leg has compensated for broken one ) My surgeon said because of the risk of infection if I have a knee replacement, he will not do it.

I also have no power in my upper body to get me moving,so I can't use crutches or aid's so that also went towards his not doing them x.

Thanks to ladymoth and rainbowdancer for your comments, What next we ask ourselves !! how much more can a person take pain wise. But i have felt so ill this past month or so a situation where you feel ill but dont know how to describe your symptoms, l love to read all the comments on this site and have realised how supportive you all are. Unfortunatly im not very confident but just because you dont hear from me it doesnt mean im not here you help more people than you think. I have to have my bone scan in the week next week so i will let you know how i get on, My blood test appears to be possitive that an infection is present.
