When they are about to do the injection beathe in seven and out eleven over and over a few times. This will lessen the anxiety and help you through it. Actually count it out in your head.

Best of luck! Try not to think 'needle' think 'pinch' instead - it's much more bearable, somehow, and it really does feel like a pinch!

.. I have in the past had a 12 hour lidocaine infusion and it didn't help then a few months down the track I went into hosp overnight for a 24 hour lidocaine infusion ,for me unfortunately they didn't help me at all but on the plus side it is not having lots of needles stuck in you ,it is just one needle through a calendula in your hand and you are rigged up on a monitor and it just drips the lidocaine into you gradually ,so compared to certain other procedures it is relatively painless , the worse pain was when they put the culendula in the back of the hand (as I have painful hands) unless of course your procedure is different , I personally would never ever have trigger point injections again ,I had to have several a few years back but I had to be awake ,after 3 they aborted attempting any more as I was screaming in agony,no way could I have any more of them!
