Hi Pondminstrel.

I have no personal experience of this, but recently several members have posted that they'd had a home visit and that it went OK.

I'm sure that when they come online they will be able to tell you what happened!

Very best of luck, anyway, and do let us know what happens! :)

hi,thank you for replying x

Hi there my friends OH had a home medical for dla ... He was listened to by the dr who visited and was given low rate care dla which was exactly what he thought he needed... And more recently one of our members had a dr visit on Mother's Day and that went very well.. I don't have personal experience of this myself but I think a home visit is better because they can see any aids you have or difficulties you have day to day rather than trying to explain it in a strange place

Hoping it all goes well for you

I had a home visit a couple of weeks ago and the doctor was lovely. She listened to everything I had to say and was in agreement that people like us do not lie. As I am an adults social worker, I said if I lied, I could lose everything. I know that she had been a Gp before, so she lives in the real world of visits from people with fibro and other conditions. At least too at home, I had access to evidence of medication, a recent rheumatology letter and info from care I receive.

Mine too has been ongoing saga sine 2010. She said I should hear in next 3 weeks but I presume mine may be about 4 due to Easter break.

I hope it goes well for you.

Jo

Ii was refused a renewal of dla. 14 months ago. It went to a tribunal where basically they told me that it was impossible for my teenage daughter to care for mE the wayshe was so I was lying I had to put in a whole new claim they looked at that and said that the decision at my tribunal stood again. I then told them I wanted it reconsidered that was oct last year they wrote to me in dec telling me I was getting a home visit which happened in january what a lovely man he was which surprised me as he was the same doctor that sat on my tribunal hearing and said I was fit I received notificationn in feb that I had been awarded high rate care and high rate mobility

thats reasuring..i got an opology fom ATOS as my last medical assesment was so bad the report was full of contradictions and false alegations ...reading the report i should have been in the olympic games!!...so i put a new claim in for them to e look at my care needs..sent a doctors letter..mental health letter plus all evidence regarding my illness...but still they want a medical!! anyway they dont like home visits so thatsbone up for me...i rang to ask for it to be recorded and the woman said..oh we only have one machine so he will cancell your appointment!..i asked for her to find out first,,she rang back and said no one isnt available...i said ok dont cancell the appointment i will ask my niebour to take notes...so lets see what next wednesday brings..but hearing your positive reply gives me a little hope...i wouldnt mind but im 63! im hardly going to be found fit for work!! xxx
