........then imagine the fire (accident/life trauma) has gone out but the smoke detector is still going off in the body.
Then by chance i attended a new Gp in my practice a few weeks later who gave me tablets which would help to numb the pain sensors in my brain subsequently helping put the fire out.....can you guess what happened.?..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................the tramadol tablets seem to be helping to put out that BLAZING INFERNO that is going on inside me. Early days yet : )

I take tramadol and paracetamol together, and mostly it works pretty well.
There's a tablet called 'Syndol' which you can buy without a prescription, and I find they are excellent if I am in really bad pain.
They are meant for migraine, but seem to work well on fibro too. The only problem is they knock you out, so really best to be taken at bedtime. They are only for short term use according to the packet, but I rarely take more than two doses.
Of course, I take them instead of the tramadol and paracetamol, not as well!
Thanks for the tip on Syndol. I always have those in my handbag, as they help if I can catch the very beginnings of a migraine, but had never thought of trying them for Fibro pain. I do have a high resistance to them though, and don't get drowsy when I take them. They have been off the market for some time (along with Propain which are similar, but in my opinion better). Thankful Syndol are now back in the pharmacies, but no signs yet of the Propain
I have been on tramadol slow release for at least 4 years but the pain is now greater than that! Trying to get diagnosed with fibro, I try to explain that I am on tramadol so the pain is so much worse than I am feeling at the moment, think I am going to have to come off them for a bit to get the diagnosis problem is I will not be able to work and I am self employed!
SuzanneM once you have your appointment, come off your medication a few days before. I'm sure you will get the full force of your condition without them. Then you will be able to tell them exactly what your symptoms are and get a proper diagnoses. Hopefully the lack of medication won't knock you out for too many days. Good luck!
