Dear Horsemadjo,

FibroAction can supply the Benefits & Work Guides to you for free.

benefitsandwork.co.uk/

If you email info@fibroaction.org they can email you the guides . This should help advise you further on DLA & ESA

Hope this helps

Also it should come with a guide of are you eligible.. Read down the questions answering yes or no and it tells you if you are eligible to save you answering the form sending it off only to find out you weren't eligible weeks later

Hope that makes sense

I get low care rate dla my son gets middle care rate dla and mobility can't for the life of me remember which rate he gets mobility, talk about the blind leading the blind, both of us disabled trying to cope round the house.....I have had dla about 4 years, I only applied cos of my arthritis not realising I could have claimed for fibro, but they ignore my fibro anyway and give it me for my arthritis, first time it took about 6 weeks to come through when it's up for renewal they send it now 6 months early so they have time to process it , just done my sons I am up for review June so expect my forms soon.... So I would say 6 weeks from my experience in first time claiming ... But from the letter I got with my sons forms saying it runs out in 6 months please send back ASAP I would guess the waiting time may be longer.

Sorry I can't be of more help

I am a first time DLA claimer. My form had to be in by Monday of this week. Yesterday I had a letter saying they cannot make a decision yet as they have written to my Doctor. Don't know if that is a good sign or not.

Good luck with yours.

Hello there Lynne, I personally don't think there is such a thing as a good or bad sign, they simply need more information or verification. It's not uncommon for this to happen.

Wishing you all the best for your claim, I hope it goes well for you.

Thanks Libs, will let you know what happens.

I have just found out that I can apply for a disabled persons bus pass as I have a blue badge. Might as well try for everything I can.
