Hi gins when my ankle first developed arthritis it swelled up to the size of a baby elephant I needed to keep my left ankle. Raised at niight and pillows weren't enough, so my OH got 2 old duvets out of the cupboard and put those under my side of the bed and that kept my legs raised nicely...... Or if you win the Christmas lottery or father Christmas thinks you have been good enough..... Coughs ... No chance ... It's my dream to get one of those electric beds you can raise either ends... My mum has one.....

Failing that it's a huge hook in the ceiling and padded rope ... Not to hang yourself you idiot... Put your leg in the loop

Sighs......

I've got an electric bed and would recommend them.

any people use body pillows,

I once had a triangle shaped/ramp like one.

sandra.

VG would one have to take down the mirrors from the ceiling to fix the hook?

Raising the foot end of your bed on wooden blocks is a good thing - not so good if you share a double bed, obviously, but it does work really well.

Aim for a raise of about 9 - 10 inches. I believe the Red Cross can help with accessing these. I do agree, though, that if you can afford it, one of those electric beds would be wonderful indeed!
