I get shakes too but it's normally down to a blood sugar thing. Do you feel a little faint with the shakes by any chance?

yeah sometimes....and sometimes see stars when in the shower x

it sounds like a blood sugar thing. Best to ask the doc about it really but I generally find eating something cures it but it takes a few minutes for the body to correct itself :)

I often find myself reaching for jam and bread. Not sure but it's all I fancy when I'm shaking and going faint. Seems to sort it out though :)

You may find once you reach for food you realise that you are actually REALLY hungrey. Remember it takes 20 minutes for the body to start digesting the food so you should find the shakes etc start to calm down 20 minutes after you've eaten something.

Still mention it to the Dr though when you go for the blood results. Good luck and I hope it is just something as simple as a drop in blood sugar :)

I'm the same, had it long before I got fibro,it is a sugar thing,I usually reach for sugary things like a couple of biscuits and some orange juice,I also keep a packet of dextrose sweets in my bag which you can get in most supermarkets including boots,I just get this feeling when its starting so reach for something before it gets full blown...xx

Ahh well you do need to go steady! LoL I would get yourself some off the dextrose sweets, its awful when your sugars drop when your out and about so you need to be prepared,if its something that's happening on a regular basis then you do need to visit your Dr...xxx

Hello Cloflow, it might be a good idea to mention these symptoms to your GP just in case it isn't related to your blood sugars. it's always best to check to rule out other illnesses and conditions and to ensure we get the right treatment and meds etc.

Please let us know how you get on, take care. (((hug))) xxx

yeah i went last week and got referred for the blood test and am booked in again on next weds for the results.

nice to know its not just me though

thank you all x

Hi

Yes, I agree shakes can be low blood sugars when you are hungry, they can also be due to low blood pressure, but tingling shouldn't be caused by either or those. Maybe it is linked to trapped nerves which I get linked to fibro, I get swelling around the neck joints at the top of the spine and that traps nerves, usually it relates to posture or some repetitive movement over time such as sleeping in a particular position, or using the computer with my neck aligned wrongly, but sometimes it is just that the fibro has kicked in and inflammation around the joints is causing trapped nerves. Your GP should ba able to investigate if you talk with him/her about where the tingling is, they could also refer you to a neurologist or rheumatologist depending on what they think might be the cause. I would definitely have the tingling looked into though and mention any other symptoms.

I have the sheske pretty bad at times. One time I was so bad when I went to the GP I had bloods done there and then and absolutley nothing showed up in the results when they came back. So I was sent to neurology and nothing showed up with anything they did, bloods, MRIs nerve tests etc. So they say my shakes are down to the fibro. But that does not mean yours are. My GP said 'Linda, your FMS is chronic and thus the shakes'. Just so not funny when you shake your cup of coffee all over yourself and anyone else who just happens to get in the way lol. But like everything else I suppose we learn to live with the fibro related stuff. I hoep you get is sorted out soon xxxxx
