I'm the same,i was confused though, i went to Tenerife in July and i could hardly walk i was worse than ever, unless i was experiencing a bad attack,i was glad to get home.I went abroad a second time wasn't so bad but not good either.I thought hot weather would relieve me of my aches and pains,so either hot or cold i'm the same.jacksiex.

Me too, cold and wet weather make my aches and pains worse, also It seems to sap me of energy. I know I should have gone to the hydrotherapy pool today but couldnt be bothered, sooo exhausted.

Chin up though guys it may be sunshine tomorrow!

The cold weather notoriously makes our symptoms feel worse, similarly so can the heat. However I personally would sooner be warm than cold any day!

We are particularly sensitive to temperature, light, sound, touch and any changes to these things seem to send our senses and pain levels skyward. We are all in the same boat regarding this.

Let's hope you're right Nana, some sunshine helps doesn't it! We instantly feel a bit better.! :) xxx

The cold definitely makes my symptoms worse, or at least, makes me tense up more, which in turn makes everything ache more. Walking in the snow and slippery slush is really stressful for me, especially when trying to get my kids to school, down an icy slippery hill!!

I suffered in silence until I found this site and now I can moan away if I choose and no one ticks me off for it. I am the same heat or cold but I prefer colder weather so maybe that makes me a bit odd. I find the summer makes things far worse for me, hope you feel better soon xxxxx

I dred the winter coming as I have had this for 13 years and I seem to spend the whole of the winter in bed or my pjs as I am in so much pain and so tired. I did go to to Florida in sept 2009 and was better but still didn't have the energy I should have. I am 39 but feel 89 most days!

Yup! Damarts is where it's at.

I hate extremes of temperature - prefer it to be sort of tepid, then I'm more comfortable.

The trouble with cold weather, tho' is it takes so long to do anything. By the time I've put on layers of clothes, and zipped up my boots and tried to find matching socks and gloves, I'm too tired to go out.

At least in the summer it's just slip on sandals and a cardi and off you go.

Hot and cold huggles ... Moffy

I am sure it does. I had two months in Australia this year and very quickly was able to do things I hadn't done for a very long time. I have stayed pretty good since but now the cold weather is with us the aches and pains and stiffness are setting back in with a vengeance,

I seem to go from hot to cold to hot to cold all the time. I never used to feel the cold, but in the last few years I feel like an eskimo!! Heat on, socks on, hot water bottle in bed at night... XX

hate cold get a light box for the cold dark months make a 100% difference to your moods and health had one many years now and where once i was almost comotose in jan now i am, if not fine so much better and able to cope. but mood swings while normal dont help your stress and stress is bad for fibro ask the doc for some help with this. there are some medications that help fibro mood swings, depression and even help you sleep better, try to remember this is as hard on your family as it is on you and they are as confused and upset as you are it helps you bite your tongue and you always regret what you say when you lash out we all do

best of luck and see the Doc i truly do recomend a good quality medical light box for fibro it gives you a chance to be just tired and cold in winter instead of in hibernation and down to the point of sleeping 18 hours a day ask your doctor if their is a light clinic in the area i was assessed at one and got a box to borrow from their before buying one . you also do not need to pay vat as its a medical buy not a luxury buy so if you buy tell them vat free your suffering from sad or fibro thats 20% off the bill

Hi Shezz,

We meet again. I'm new here and exploring. I think my issue is dry heat and dry cold. I live in a very humid part of USA. In California I believe it's drier. I have no trouble with poor lighting, but it's a problem for some. LDN has changed my life to livable, I know many will benefit from it.
