Update 'Further to Depressed? Give this a miss. Apologies, too much to respond individually...

GP said Cruse (etc) would not want to take me on due to mental health history and concerns about 'keeping me safe', Local mental health team came to see me few months ago. Not keen on getting into all that again. To be honest, I find this site more helpful than anything else because I feel heard, understood, without judgement. I owe it to my family etc. to keep going. The temptation to shut down is strong,

Thank you to all - you have helped more than you know. xx

I think we all help each other tulips simply because we are probably the only folks who really do understand each other as we are all in the same boat - but maybe at different stages of the journey. I know I would be lost without my OH but even he struggles to understand how I feel some days and perhaps sometimes it is better that he doesn't if you know what I mean. We do have to stay strong for the sake of our family and friends and recognise that while things might not get back to how they once were, we can still find ways to enjoy life and make the best of things. You are going through a bad patch tulips but it will pass, so stay with us and stay strong. All best wishes and gentle hugs to you. Jane x

Hi julips,

I replied to your original post yesterday so I don't want to write too much as I'm sure you are getting a bit overwhelmed at the moment,I know you probably don't want to but if you feel you just want to talk and be listened to and not judged in any way the Samaritans are really good,I rang them a few years back before I became I'll,it was to do with relationships, they do not give you answers they just listen in a very caring way and sometimes that's all you need, you can talk to them about anything and for how ever long you need, why don't you give it a go,trust me I think it may help,I do not have the number but you could look it up or if libertyz is reading she may be able to get the number for you.

Take care

We are all here to help one another and if we are successful in that then we have done a good job xxxxx

Hello there Tulips, I am so pleased you feel that we have helped you in some way. We will always do our absolute best to help and support you as much as we are able to. I strongly advise you to have a chat with the Samaritans if as you say CRUSE are unlikely to help you because of the mental health issues.

The Samaritans are also present to help people struggling to cope and you qualify on this subject Tulips. Have a chat with them, they will listen and support you and they will understand. I think you might benefit from this.

See Jane's post above for the Samaritans' contact info.

We are here for you Tulips, if there is anything at all we can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact us. If you would prefer to privately message Admin, please feel free to do so at any time, we are always only too happy to help you.

Take care, here's a hug for you (((hug))) xxx
