Diffcult poor thing his hearing aids cannot make the difference and they whistle and squeek away at me, I can hear them which means they are not forming a seal in his ears - Oh dear it is not easy when you reach 70

This morning I seem to have a spot in my ear which is really sore either tickles or hurts b----r

Hey enough of our problems how is every one today smiling I hope :) xgins

Peers blearily at gins,,,,, so that's what kept me awake, your tv on full blast.. May I politely request you turn it off when you go to bed, looks at Gins ear,,, ummm you appear to have a magic bean from the pantomime props stuck in it, was that a drastic measure to deaden the TV .... Your poor other half so glad he doesn't read this....mine did a rosemary shrager impersonation ( I,m a celebrity get me out of here) and snored like a bull for most of the night, I would have been glad of a couple of beans in my ears , heck I'd even have preferred your OHs whistling ears.... I put the tv on quietly giving up on sleep but his snores drowned it out.....I can't even blame his age he's 5 years younger than me. His snoring even kept my son awake, as he very grumpily informed me this morning over his cereal before dragging himself off to school.. At least he spoke to me I don't think his usual texting would have sounded so grumpy,

Smiles at gins, well my top lip moved the rest of me is trying decide whether to sleep or have a shower,

Hope your ear improves... Now I am sitting here wondering if those old fashioned ear trumpets worked better than hearing aids, my dear old dad always had trouble with his squeaking and whistling so does my OHs nan, in her 90s bless her but deaf as a post even with her hearing aids.... Gahh why do you always put ideas in my head I KNOW I am going to have to google ear trumpets

Yes I had to google ear trumpets, very useful, if you stuff a bean in the small end you can also use them to bail out water if the flood water from the field reaches your house, perfect solution and then your OH could use them after.... If you can get the bean out they seem to get very narrow at the end...

Manages a full lip smile... Am waking up :)

how wonderful where can I get one of the duel purpose trumpets do you suppose he could play a tune as well. I doubt it large smile :) wonderful thought rather like a hippo pursing his lips sucking in his stomach to release a ...........pure ........

...fresh note.

Greatly pleased you are back with us :) xgins

Gins, I have just thought of the perfect present for your OH. Why not get him a set of wireless headphones so he doesn't have to wear his hearing aid and you don't have to listen to the TV at full volume? My OH just pointed out that they don't always work with all TVs though....well might be worth a try. Jane x

Loving the ear trumpet thing from VG...reminds me of the story at the beginning of Captain Corelli

Another good thought but the pit falls would be endless he would not manage the nobs and I would be constantly asked to set it up............if he could hear it he is becoming majorly deaf. Maybe we should sign up for signing lessons .xgin

Am so glad I am having new iPad for Christmas I have just spit organic squash all over my old one .. Good job it's in a case with screen protector. Sorry I am now seeing you and your OH, he as the silent night hippo and you the duck both in pyjamas leaning out of your bedroom window with your OH blasting out distress calls on his ear trumpet as you wait to be rescued from the flood....

Great to be back, I love the thoughts you give me.....

After reading all these I had to go back and check what the blog was about. says Lin with a brain the size of a bean! I may need those ear trumpets myself if the hearing guy at Specsavers does not pull his finger out and send the report to the GP so I canget my referral toute suite xxxxx
