Does anyone know of a sleeping remedy apart from the totally obvious ones on sale at the chemist/ supermarkets......I have tried most of them. Even if it sounds a bit cuckoo or its grannies or anything. Just so long as it is natural & doesn't involve alchahol.........I would really really ....really realllllllly.................... thank anyone for even half a nights sleep at the moment. I suffer constantly from sleeplessness as all fibros' but just recently it seems to be getting worse and worse and worse...just a decent nod would do me.. Thanks everyone...hugs all round....

You could try some comomile tea. I use that most of the time although I do not sleep much it does help me relax. Make sure though if you try it you leave the teabag to seep for at least five minutes xxxxx

Have you tried camomile but put a teaspoon of honey in it, just a thought hun. I have suggested it to a few people and they have liked it with the honey but not without the honey xxxxx

A bowl of porridge made with warm milk before bed might help; apparently oats are said to help induce sleep. :-)

I know it sounds strange but have you heard of lettuce soup? I'm having a really bad fibro fog attack so I haven't got a clue what the recipe is but if you google it you will find the recipe. Lettuce has something in it that makes you sleepy so a big bowl of lettuce soup or even a la

Lettuce sandwich might help. I use melatonin 10mg and find that if I take 2 then I get pretty sleepy within an hour. I get them from a well known auction site at quite a reasonable price. I only started taking them a month ago as everything else I've taken has meant I sleep all day. It's so deep that I don't hear ANYTHING, and with 2 young boys that's no good at all. I've got a brilliant partner who just let's me sleep and looks after the boys in the morning but I don't want to spend my days sleeping like that so tried the melatonin and so far so good. No hangover in the morning and since it's made by the body, its natural. I hope some of this helps

Love and gentle hugs

I hear you Hobblin and I was the same last night despite taking 3.5mg zopiclone and 2 Tesco herbal tabs several hours later. What usually helps me is listening to a hypnotherapy clip on YouTube. Just search sleep hypnosis. Of course I wake briefly at the end long enough to put the ear phones down but usually fall asleep after that (apart from last night)

Hope you find something that works for you, it's awful having no sleep!

Have you tried any lavander aromatherapy oil under your pillow or maybe listening to a relaxation cd in bed there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep. There is lots of meditations and lovely slow music on you tube . Also i have just come across a meditation that is supposed to be like having a good sleep called yoga nidra it relaxes you and afterwards i did feel as though i had had a good nights rest. good luck hope something works for you x

I have tried Lavander loads of times and although I love it & find it relaxing it doesn't seem to get me off to sleep.....I just replied to someone else about the yoga stuff....I got some tapes a couple of years ago...gonna dig them out again....thanx a lot ...xxxx

If you have a smart phone go onto YouTube & get Paul McKennas I can make you skeep. It works for me & I was a big Insomnia sufferer.

Good luck.

I too use MELATONIN, but can only get on Internet use reputable company. Dosage is 1mg a night of melatonin and can use upto 3mg if you want, but start low. I also use with it Clonazepam 500microgram x 2 which is a muscle relaxant that was prescribed by Fibomyalgia Clinic. I take 1-2 hours b4 bed. This helps majority of the time. Occasionally, have a really bad night, if pain is bad or cant get brain to stop. Good luck.

My sister told me she had read that eating two kiwi fruit an hour before bedtime makes you sleep & bought me a big bag full! I haven't a clue what is in them that's supposed to make them do this, but in desperation tried them anyway. unfortunately they gave me terrible heatburn, despite taking omeaprezarole every mornig for acid reflux. I now eat two for breakfast on my ricekrispies, very nice, but still NO SLEEP!

It's now 5.40am, been sat at computer since 4.10am, didt'n get to sleep til gone 2.30am & now so tired I feel sick! Sorry for spelling mistakes, my fingers don't seem to be conectig with my brainat this early hour!

Please let us now if you find anything that works as I too NEED SLEEEP!

Gentle hugs xx
