How many of u can one day like a smell and the next the same smell can be as bad as smelly feet and even worse. I had that experience with vinegar on saterday night. It was awful. Thank goodness I was not eating the food.

I don't get the same exactly, but since developing fibro smells that didn't bother me before do , in fact my sense of smell has gotten so much sharper I find things that other people hardly notice, to me are overpowering.. The kitchen bin is hardly used things have to go straight into the wheelie bins some perfumes actually make me feel sick if I smell them as people walk by when in the local covered shopping centre which you can drive through slowly on mobility scooter very handy. Very weird and very annoying

I find some smells quite intense these days to the point of feeling pretty queasy.

My pet hate at the moment is my neighbour's cooking! They seem to fry onions at least once every day with the kitchen door open and then go outside for a smoke - the smells just seem to permeate into my house & in the summer I can't leave the patio door open as it's just unbearable.

Fibro seems to amplify the senses, or at least it seems that way to me. I hate bright lights and loud noises to the point that at times it can, on occasions, be quite painful to experience.

my sense of smell is now non existent which I find very difficult especially whe given flowers that I now pong but to me nothing. All gone!¬ so I a getting used to it xgin

I can relate to being sensitive to certain smells it seems to cause a gut reaction and i feel sick. cigarette smoke and coffee make me gag. I do think i am allergic to some things as my throat seems to close up to certain perfumes and i have difficulty breathing. I do have allergies and allergic rhinitis but since having fibro i react differently to smells and also i am sensitive to light and sound. sometimes there can be a sound like a fridge and i feel like it is drilling inside my brain very bizzarre so sensitive to everything at the moment.

Thks everyone I really appreciate ur comments. I know that this time of the year is not nice for me due to the fireworks and the flashing lights. The Xmas period is also bad for me just because of the flashing lights. I seem to be affected by it. Also I know that I am light sensitive as I have to have a room in pitch blackness to get a good night sleep. (That's if we fibros can get a good night sleep).

strange that you should ask, as I was just thinking the other day that I seem To be losing my sense of smell apart from the dog's smelly feet lol

Lol. I get frustrated with this as I will eat something and enjoy it but after a while I cannot stand the smell of it.
