leg pain when laying ing in bed

has anyone experienced when waking up in bed when laying on your side that they seems to be pressure on your joints near the knee at the side joints and when you try to stretch thy are so stiff and painful.........it is reall worrying me as it is also adding extra pain when walking x

yes i have suffered this, I sleep with a cushion between my knees now and it seems to help 99% of the time.

you could also try muscle rubs like deep heat or fenbid forte gel they may be some inflammation around your knees at the moment.

yes and pain in those joints on that side.

hi too suffer from pain at night in legs where pressure points ie knees and ankles when laying on side touch . its a horrible feeling i know how you feel. the only way i can get relief is to sleep every night with a pillow between my knees/ankles. i cannot sleep on my back as even slight pressure on my ankles from light quilt is soo painful.. hope this helps??

thanks girls i will resort back to the pillow , i used the pillow now again when my hip plays up as i have bursa on my left hip which was replaced back in feb 2011 , this pain is blooming awful near my knees never experienced this pain before maybe you are right about my knees my ankles specially the left is ver swollen but cannot for the life of me get the gp to send me for xray maybe one day he will listen just says its my osteo or rheumatoid , thanks for help xx

yes i also use a pillow the long pregnancy ones i even take it away with me i cant sleep without it :)

hi , just a thought knee pain can be coming from the hip but is felt in the knee, this what happened to my Mum, can you not ask to be referred back to orthopod for a checkup ? x

I usually wake up with chronic back pain and my leg feels like it has been crushed, my right arm is also very weak felt like this for over 3 years now and its still 5 days out of 7.

my left shoulder has been playing up to cannot lay on it for very long i am awaiting an appointment back with rheumatologist and see orthapeadic consultant in january x

i used the pillow last night and it helped thanks peeps xx soft hugs xx teresaxx

I also suffer with pain in my hip, ankle, knee, back, back near left lung, shoulder & feet when lying in bed, also restless legs syndrome - pardon the pun, but an absolute pain lol the ankle pain really annoys me arrgh lol
