Honestly if you read all the published articles they all condradict each other ... I read eating a square of very strong dark chocolate a day helped and cutting down on caffiene .... Have cut down on caffiene one coffee first thing then i drink water all day. that seems to have helped a little can't comment on the chocolate I bought a bar .. Ate one square then promptly scoffed the whole bar..... Other people have recommended gluten free or the low oxalate diet.... Basically I eat what I feel like just avoiding very fatty food as I dont have a gallbladder and my body doesn't tolerate fat so well now. Sorry not to be able to say there is a miracle cure through diet but it doesn't hurt to try different things to see if it helps.

Hi , I've done a lot of research on this and I've cut out high oxalate foods, I do have a lot of pain but wether I have a high pain tolerance I can manage it ok most of time, I cut out any that has any chemicals in it, where I can obviously,I didn't use to worry bowt chemicals pesticides etc but I do now, the thought of eating non organic fruit or veg now repulses me, strange how your mind set changes quickly isn't it? Cost a lot tho, hope this helps a little we've all got to try things havnt we,

Take care you. Nicki x

Hi there.

Don't cut out anything! You need a good balanced diet to cope with all disease, and there's no hard evidence that any specific food worsens fibro.

Having said that, it makes sense to avoid fatty, sugary foods, to eat plenty of fruit and veg and lean protein, and to avoid anything which you feel particularly upsets you.

Many of us suffer IBS as part of the fibro syndrome, and there is definite evidence that too much sugar can aggravate this, as does a diet too low in fibre.

I follow an eating plan which I originally started on to lose a bit of weight. I am slimmer and feel quite a lot better, which I am convinced is due to plenty of good healthy food and no faddy diet!

I don't wish to advertise or I shall get a slap on the wrist, but it's the one that allows lots of free foods - so you can probably guess!

Hope this helps! Luv, Moffy x
