i have just watched the you tube topicaon fibro and think it is fantastic. It may however answered something for me. I was going to go to see my doctor as my arm and my leg have started twitching and i was not aware that this could be caused by Fibro. Can any of you kind people give me more information on this please

many thanks

x

Yes most of us with fibro get this, I some times wish I

Could see myself and husband in bed at night as we

Both do it, must look like we are kicking each other

Some times it seems like he leaves the bed

sorry but that sounds really funny and made me smile - i now am left with this image in my mind

Yes, I am a twitcher ;). It happens in any of my muscles, even my face and hands but seems to be worse at night (or maybe I am just more aware of it then). As a result I often punch myself in the face or knock things over on my bedside table. I have also been known to kick my poor OH! I did ask my GP if it was happening because of my medication but she thought it was most probably a part of the Fibro condition. Jane x

mine is worse at night

I have severe twitching too and i often leave bruises on Paul and wake myself up, the best ones are when i physicaly jump down the bed. Due to Paul working nights 4 times a week i sometimes have to sleep on the sofa on a thursday so he gets a good night sleep before work friday night. I have grabbed his arm before now and dug my nails in, poor man as my nails are long...he doesn't mind when thier painted red ;p

;P

Dam still can't do smileys properly grrrrr

I often jump myself physically in bed or out or swing my arm or legs about, and sometimes I'm watching tv with my family and I shout "ouch", and swing my leg up or something because it feels like someone has just stuck a knitting needle in me somewhere, and I'm always scratching my face with my nails when I swing my arms about, a funny movie in the making xx

Hi twitchers can I join your club? my husband bought adjustable single beds as I can no longer sleeep flat, I think its because he's fedup with all th bruises I keep giving him,.I too have found myself at the bottom of the bed, when I was a teenager I used to find my head under the covers where my feet should be and my feet where my head should be it still happens some times, I also twitch during the day but these are all small ones for the most part I do have an occasional big ones its been going on for years I didn't boother going to see my GP as I know he would have only said its part of your fibro without even examining me he always put any ailment down to fibro he is now retired my new Dr is ok sofar. Big gentle hugs to all . Sithy

Lol have to say the comments on this post give me a 'quare' chuckle I too am a twitcher and my daughter often tells me that I look and sound like I'm doin 10 rounds with mike tyson in my sleep. Apparently I kick and punch like a gud un and often throw in a couple of swear words for good measure. Is it any wonder we wake up exhausted!!! I also twitch during the day though this is generally on a smaller scale and includes twitching of the eye hands legs and believe it or not the bum cheeks!! We must all look a 'quare' sight lol

Ladies your making me blush.

I thought it was just me too! I jump awake in the night and feel battered. Yesterday my muscles in my left arm went into twitch spasm and it was funny watching it.

so what causes it ?

I was diagnosed as having Essential Tremor because of my shaking. It gets worse when I try to do things - walk a straight line or write etc. I live alone also but find my shaking is worse when I wake up in the morning. It can happen at any time though so I don't like going shopping on my own and use a stick to walk with as it affects my hands and legs quite badly. I asked my friend last week and he said my head also shakes.

i am so sorry to hear that.

are there any meds that can help it ?

hugs

The only meds they could give me, bearing in mind I also have asthma, I didn't get on with. So sadly no is the answer. I just have to put up with it. It is a real nuisance though. At least I sleep alone though;-)

My eyes twitch when I'm tired or stressed and I do the throw out a leg thing and scream ouch when the imaginary bee stings me.

I suppose we have to laugh or we'd go insane with all these bizzare Fibro symptoms.

that i s so funny - i often say ouch when i twitch but now i have an image of someone

saying ouch about a bee sting when there is no bee there - you have cheered me up as i was having a bit of a down afternoon and also my cousin phoned and i was trying to explain fibro to her.

have a pleasant day

ive had restless legs syndrome for many years and take ropinerol for it which helps.during the last few months it has spread to my arms. its occuring mostly at night and its not so bad in the daytime..i always thought that this condition was separate to the fibro but after reading your post i was wondering if other people have this as well.

that sounded a bit daft as i skipped all the comments..that will teach me wont it..well now im happy i have my answer

can I be part of the twitcher club too? I also have hypermobility so when i twitch my leg regularly ends up by my head and tries to do this even when I'm stood up - I am a great source of entertainment to myself and my friends as when the spasms, twitches start i look like im dancing, particularly if my bum starts wiggling away! Am i twitchy enough? lol! xxxx
