Aww debuck that is so lovely !

Full time /pt mum lol as all grown up except 1..

One of my very close friends is not a mum nor is she maternal but we have a good relationship.

She puts it down to how she was brought up and would not to pass on to her children.

She has a heart of gold in many ways though and tries her best with mine when i see her, she just has no Maternal instinct within her, but i say

That comes Naturally when you do become a mum.

Why not help kids p/t

My cousin started as a carer she now social worker and deals with all walks .

She could never have kids and is surrounded by them in the family.

She helps look after a lot of Disabled children giving parents a break from the full time job a parent has which for a mum who has a child that has some major disabilities it takes such a lot from you as much as you have to give.

Non of us know what we will be like as a parent until you become one!

All the txts book in the world can give you help and advice but its yourself who knows what to do!

The only thing i had books on was baby names and 0-5 what is expected roughly at their growing years.

But it was me who did it all.

I have 4 and only 1 was hard wrk as so very hyper but also needed a lot of attention as cried all the time as a baby, he is now the most loving son i could have yet it was my hubby (his step dad) who brought him up.

As for who you are that makes no odds, i have goid friends who are lady mums with one daughter although going through Divorce.

It is harder for Gay men as they have a Lot to prove to become a dad because of todays society.

Well hope you are feeling ok and chat anytime i will reply the best i can xxxx

Maternal instinct does not always come. I have 2 daughters and managed with the first with her father's help. With the second the dad had left home and within a year she was in a foster home. Thankfully she has not moved as many times as others you hear about and has grown up happy and well adjusted. When she lived with me she was a real terror and would not have been very nice to know.

I suppose i should of phrased it slightly different :-/

Not everyone who gives birth has a bond or wants the baby which is a shame.

My step daughter has no maternal instinct

My mum was not really maternal and i hope she never reads :-(

Hi and thanx for the hugs to mothers dont know if you read my last blog but Im having a bit of trouble with my children aged 17 19 22 who are demanding to be be treated as adults with all the rights and none of the responsibilities. Im currently on strike at home and have told them they will now do their own adult chores like washing cooking and ironing all tasks I do for them everyday while also holding down a partime job and battling with fibro. Got fed up being disrespected so im hoping they will soon discover how much I did for them and start being grateful. Its no easy job being a parent but i guess we all do our best & try to muddle through. Hope all is well in your world :-)

Cheers Dixie x

hi dixie like you i have teenagers living at home mine are 13 and 14 but then i have a 20 yr old a 21yr old a24yrol and 26yr old living at home ,the 19 yr old has a one yr old daughter and the 26 yr old has a 4 month old daughter .the 26yr old is looking for a place of her own but that still leaves me with 4 boys and 1 girl and 1 grandaughter at home and like you i do most things for them all .i have ten kids all together and i love it and wouldnt change it and because i had a not so nice childhood as i was sexually abused for 8 yrs ive tried to give my kids the happiness and love i never had but it does come back to bite you on the bum because they get so used to you doing things for them they become lazy ,although i have to say they all work its just at home they dont want to do a thing.there all very close though if one of thems ill there there for each other.my 19yr old has had major surgery this year as she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and they were all there for her .but there are days when the fibro is bad and i just carnt do a thing so they have to do things for themselfs .hope your fibro isnt to bad at the min ,gentle hugs

as my wonderful Dad used to say " all we can do is our best people should not expect more " he was always so proud of us and whilst they neither parents were tactile huggy people we KNEW we were loved, we were bought up to know that our family were there at all times and would be by our side like a shot if required , it has only been in the last few years that things have emerged with the way that certain members were treated that it all makes sense, i have also bought my children up in the same way in fact my Mum in law is like a second Mum to my children. I realise how lucky i have been having such enlightened parents, warm hugs to everyone, You are all lovely xx

My Children are 10,14,23,25 & 26 and I never had a maternal bone in me until I fell with my eldest...Always said I didn't want kids and wanted to be a history teacher from the age of 10...once I had my elsest I just melted and all the rest is now History instead of teaching it!
