Your friend needs to get his/her facts right and not wind you up like this!!

DLA is all about what you can and can not do; it is not dependent upon which illnesses you may or may not have, there are no banned illnesses. In fact for depression you will probably score points and for the way fibro affects you you will also score points.

I would take what this (probably) well meaning friend says with a sackful of salt in future ... a pinch of salt is just not enough for this level of misinformation!

No, you shouldn't lose your allowance I think this is just an update. If you can get evidence from someone who knows you well to go with you to explain what happens in your day and how your illness affects you. I have learnt a very valuable lesson when form filling, I was never honest enough, I now have full DLA because I took the time to complete all forms and add in as mush detail of how my day is (which can be quite grim at times). I hope all goes well for you.

Firstly, don't listen to friends, they might mean well but are not trained to decide what you are and are not entitled to.

I posted on my FB page last week an article about a Scottish lady who worked for Atos, she herself now has severe depression because of the job she had to do and had to give up work due to the stress of sending people back to work who clearly are not fit enough to work.

She has actually stated that she had to give a mark AGAINST the person if theyhad done their hair, put make up on, got themself to the appointment on their own, took a child with them. All these things show that you are able to look after yourself to a degree and show that you can do a job"of sorts."

I for one who has an appointment on the 8/10 will NOTbe washing my hair before I go and will NOT be putting make up on. I cannot go out on my own anyway so my husband will be with me, as usual!

I went for an appointment with Atos a couple of weeks ago but the nurse would not see me as I had had a fall on the previous day; instead she insisted I go to A&E but when I go for my medical next week I have to show proof that I went to A&E. I tried to give her supporting evidence on my Fibro on a daily basis and she was very reluctant to take it. She just slipped it in my folder....... I doubt if it is still there!
