Got my blue badge at the weekend after being turned down the first time. Really pleased to have it and I know it will make life a lot easier for me and hubby. The downside is that in the two local car parks I use, one in particular, the disabled bays are often full up which is very frustrating!

Hi caroline
Glad youve got something to help you in this battle with fibro, I hope your town has ample disability parking space as I know this is an issue for many others both on this site and in the 'real' world.
If disability space is at a premium in your town it might help if you address this issue with your local political representative by writing a letter and urging all your family and friends to do likewise. You never know you mite just make a difference for a wortwhile cause

Dependant of the car park, if it's local authority you might be able to park in a regular bay and use your badge saving yourself the parking fee. You'd have to look at the ticket machine to be sure, I use two spaces at the supermarket and plunk down my badge when the disabled is full to allow me to more easily get out/in with my crutches.
if you read the booklet that came with the badge, you can park on some roads, displaying your badge and the clock.
regards, sandra.
