Inflammation???

I know that 'they' say that there is no swelling/inflammation, yet I sure have this on my neck and back...and read how other people have this on their hands, feet and elsewhere. Anybody else get this?

Hi susan Y I my self have had swollen legs ankles and feeet and have felt like I am puffing up in all of my body Me tummy is very swollen my GP is sending me to the hospital for a stomach Xray and I am waiting for an ultra sound of my stomach I am okay keeping me feet up but as soon as I move or sit I swell up again. so It wouldn't hurt to get it checked out its more than likely its due to the heat good luck

Take care babsx

I am not 100% sure this is FMS so i would recomend you check it out with the Gp .. the one main issue is that all syptoms can be discised by the assumption its our condition ..

I always say if i had a bone sticking out of my leg they would still say its FMS but you need to make sure its nothing else so keep going making a fuss and making sure

Gentle dyslexic hugs

Oh Lexie, believe me...I have tried discussing things with the GP...and as you said 'FM' is always the diagnosis. Last time I went to there GP and he said this, I said 'perhaps you would be able to examine me first before giving me this diagnosis!'. We are in a small village - choice of GPs are slim...and he is actually the best one there by far!

As Lexie says, I am not sure your swellings are down to Fibro either. Please express your concern to your GP, perhaps if you say you are worried that the symptoms aren't Fibro related he might refer you.

I hope this is resolved soon for you. We have so many symptoms sometimes and it can be a worry. Take care.

i think the nightshade family foods can cause the joints to swell.

Hi Trekster -yep -i know the nightshade family and me are not a good combo. For some reason, I can eat fresh toms...tinned ones = a flare within an hour -that can last DAYS.

OMG Yes! My neck, shoulders, rotative cuffs and elbows are burning, as we speak. But unfortunately, I do get the swelling at the base of my neck, in which the pain extends completely around to my collar bone. The spasms are so excruciating, it prevents me from sleeping through the course of the night. I get these shooting pains that hit at the front of my neck, if I don't apply pressure while trying to pop some of the pressure lose. That method isn't successful at all. I just don't know what else to try to do. I constantly feel like I have a crook in my neck, that spirals to the middle side of my back. I can never find the exact, initial muscle spasm. The pain just drains all of my energy. While my legs to my feet retain fluid.
