Diagnoised in 2009 with fibromyalgia, curvation of the spine with bulging discs, depressive disorder and anxiety. In 2011 following hydrotherapy, CBT, pain clinic injections went back to work following nine months of sick whilst getting treatment. Been back at work now for a year but every day i work (2 days a week) is a constant struggle and feel that i can't keep up with my teaching role. I am now unfit again for work and having a lots of problems with my legs and migraines. Will the fact that i went back to work following longterm sickness make it harder for me to apply for Ill health retirement?

Hi Charlotte so sorry to hear about the problems you are having. I do think that it will be in your favour that you went back to work it shows that at least you gave tried. Have you been involved with Occupational Health and will they support you? I got ill health retirement last year and I didnt even have to have a medical just filled out lots of forms and my doctor had forms to fill in too as had any consultants I was under. It took along time but it was worth it in the end. I hope you can get the outcome you want take care Sue xx
