Recently been transferred off Calcichew and given Colecalciferol 20,000 unit capsules instead. Dosage; 1 daily for 1 week then once weekly afterwards.
Took them for 4 days, evening of 4th day, severe vomiting and diarrhoea started (Monday).
yesterday (Thursday), called Doc to enquire. At first he tried to fob me off with 'food poisoning', but I asked him to check if it could be Toxicity from large doses of Vit. D. it turned out that it was. So, I'm very hungry and thirsty, trying to keep fluids up and foods down, neither of which is working.
Can't take my other meds without food either, so BP is climbing, so is cholesterol, IBS is having a field day. I don't feel any better for the passing of 4 days.

I am now getting quite concerned about the way drs just prescribe meds to us and then try to fob off our reactions as food poisoning etc ...... We don't want to be in pain but I don't think any of us want to go to drs and just be given more meds that make other symptoms worse but that seems to be happening more and more
Bless you hun! I really feel for you For different reasons i suffered with similar symptoms as you for nearlt 3 weeks. I didnt hace diahorrea tho and was waking up every day with cold sweats, rPid thumping heart beat and i was vomiting within a minute of waking up. Was dx with gastritis and given lansoprasole 30mg once a day to coat my stomach as the acid had got thru the lining and was causing severe burning pain at the bottom of my ribs, just under the breast bone. I felt so ill a couple of days later that i rang out of hours and had to go to hospital. They prescribed me gaviscon advance as it helps keep stomach contents where they are supposed to be. This worked like a treat and within a day i was back to eating and drinking after not even being able to keep water down for the first 4 days! Sadly after around a week of feeling much better im almost back to square 1. Yesterday i was queasy all day and my stomach gurgling like mad. That was bad enough but ive been reslly ill agsin today. I dont take a vit d supplement and havent been tested for low levels but its something i think ill mention when i see the dr again. Saw her yesterday and she has doubled the lansoprazole and also prescribed duloxetine, which i darent try as it can make people sick and i feel bad enough at the moment. When things calm down again ill give it a go.
Sorry, having a pity me moment then! I was told, no sour, spicy, caffeine, tomatoes, processed foods, fatty meats, tomato based sauces, sugar and damn it, CHOCOLATE! Ive got to stick to the blandest foods possible now, eg plain boiled rice, mash etc. Why dont you see if you can manage a spoon or 2 of these foods? The only eason im suggesting this is that your stomach ends up nauseated from lack of food too and that can feel just as bad because you still think you are sick when you arent. I found that out myself. No that it helps when you just cant face food!
I also have to be careful of fruit as its acidic and its trial and error for veg to see what will set me off. My problems are probably caused by stress so they arent Likely to ease until i get my stress levels down a bit (have a reead of my post "pain" if you would like some background on me)
Slowly getting back to eating, but still only bland stuff and only small amounts.
Stress has a large bearing on my life at present as well, DLA Claim, Several specialists, unemployed son, Debt caused by inheriting a house at the start of a recession, need to move to the new one, but can't sell existing one.
Existing one unsuitable for future needs, new one suitable but can't afford to move. Neither house suitable for rental, all that sorta good stuff Threats of bailiffs, etc, it's driving me round the twist!
