just come back from ENT . dr said my throat and voice box look ok-there is a build up of muscus at back of throat but he was a bit puzzeled what could be causing the croaky voice. i asked if itt could be the fibro and he said if could be but this is very rare. anyone else have this problem ?

I have the same problem. Again no-one seems to know why,. but I personally wondered if it was an inflammatory side effect of one of the drugs. My voice comes and goes during the day as if I have a cold, and throat so sore I struggle to swallow, but as you there is nothing "wrong".

Honey and lemon hot drink is about the only thing that helps sooth it for me

that sound just the same as me. even my tongue is orange in colour and really sore and dry at times. the dr told me when i was waiting outside of the room for numbing spray to kick in he spoke to another dr who said it could indeed be related to fibro

Do you find the pain sensation spreads to your ears as well?

I have the same, dairy products can cause a build up of mucus,

I have the same, saw the ENT guy, and he said I have a scarred oesophagus, due to Oesophageal Reflux. He put me on to gaviscon after meals, and referred me to a Voice Therapist, which is interesting. The exercises seem to be working.

Cheers.

I have fibro but I also have an auto immune disorder - it was this that caused me to lose my voice for two and a half years. have you had blood tests of P-ANCA & C-ANCA ? they showed my other condition. it might be worth asking for them to be done.
